My experience was really incredible. I swear I gave everything I could to succeed after graduation. I was retained for training at America Roots and until today I work in life nothing comes by nothing you just have to give and fight without forgetting to be honest. You can be successful. I love my job and I have time to drop my son off at school to come back and pick him up without being stressed. Now I manage to save the lives of many people. We produce the masks and it is really important and the joy to see that I can also take care of the people by making these masks and saving lives.

I’m glad to let my community know how my training at Westbrook’s Common Threads helped me to learn sewing. From that training, I was able to get a nice job from American Roots and start my new life in America with my family. Today I’m able to perform my sewing job without any obstacle. I recommend the training center to anyone who will like to gain skills in sewing

Common Threads formulated the training module we needed, did the leg work on contact tracing of students prior to being trained, and moved at lightning speed to feed over 40 new stitchers to American Roots. Without Common Threads becoming a part of the PPE discussion and quickly adjusting their program to fit our needs, American Roots would not have been able to scale as fast as we did.

During the past year, we have hired eight folks that have successfully graduated from your program. Without exception, they are all (1) extremely competent stitchers, (2) very reliable employees with a great work ethic and (3) strong contributors to the continued growth and success of Hyperlite. I know that your program not only teaches these folks how to sew but also how to be a good employee.

They worked with us to find a person who would be a good fit for our team and our product line. The skills that Common Threads teach also goes beyond stitching, they teach their graduates how to be a good employee. We hired a graduate of the program in October of 2020. She is a valuable member of our company. She’s not only a good seamstress, she’s dedicated, hardworking, and always willing to help her co‐workers. Common Threads is a great partner as well. They continued to check in on us and her for several months after she joined our company.
